A recipe for homemade onion rings, we shallow fry them in this recipe but they will work just as well in a deep fat fryer.
A little more effort than just throwing frozen onion rings in the oven or deep fat fryer but the effort is worth it when you taste these.
The pellenta gives a crunch to the onion rings
Oven cooking the onion rings for 10 minutes gives the rings a little more firmness and really brings out the natural sweetness of the onion when you taste these.
Please be careful when frying, the oil gets to a very high temperature. Only use oil that is good for frying, like veg oil or sunflower oil,
using something like olive oil wont reach a high enough temperature and will smoke considerably.
